Destiny

Destiny

After Bungie lost the Halo franchise they revealed to us that they had a trick up their sleeves. It is Destiny, Bungie's own FPS MMO style game. Very little has been revealed, but we still have some leaked info and some very interesting confirmed facts that Bungie has let on to. IGN reviewed this video Bungie gave out, or rather a news agency with permission from Bungie to let out, and some surprising details were revealed. Personally this game looks a little like Mass Effect, but with more Halo elements. Bungie has stated that they want this game to feel as tangible as that Star Wars Universe. I think that would be very awesome, because I feel like the Star Wars universe could expand forever if there was a need, were as some video game franchises are pulling at straws to put together a new game. Supposedly the game will be Rated Teen and is supposed to bring out the " inner seven year old within ourselves". It seems to me like the game will also play like a RPG with a great world to explore and save. Below is videos summing up what has been revealed about Destiny, which is very little but still makes us think that this is going to be a game worth ordering. Here is a link to the official Bungie YouTube channel for Destiny.

Halo 4

Halo 4

I pre-ordered this game, as a fan of the others thinking it would more pleasing than its predecessors. Halo 4 has proven just so. The first game of the reclaimer trilogy, made by 343 industries, made some fans unsure whether 343 would live up to Bungie or bring shame upon the popular franchise. I was simply impressed overall at how it seemed like 343 took all the Halos and perfectly meshed them together to create the game all gamers have been looking for. The weapons have a different feel, namely the Assault Rifle, Magnum, DMR, and they play in perfectly to the game play. The plot was very great and ends in suspense, just killing me until Halo 5 comes out so we can see what happens.

The campaign was very pleasing and entertaining. The elements 343 has added to Halo has proven to earn the gamers liking through out every mission. The game play expands the Halo universe making it feel almost tangible. The depth of the game keeps increasing while still remaining an enjoyable FPS. I was very glad that 343 brought back the assault rifle from its shame in Halo Reach. It is now an realistic weapon of choice and hands out more damage than in Halo Reach. The DMR was also kept and improved. It doesn't shoot as fast as before, but deals out more damage than ever. 343 also brought back the BR which is currently the weapon of choice of most players. I can see why, having a three burst shot which balances out with doing a little less damage than the DMR, but is still a famed precision weapon.

Although Halo 4's campaign offers a great experience it is online where gamers realize the true potential of Halo 4. Spartan Ops has replaced Fire Fight, but Matchmaking and Forge still remain. Spartan Ops is a more objective based Firefight, and five new missions are released every week, so go grab a controller and play with some friends. Matchmaking was troubled at first, having frequently played game types come and go, but they are now more stable so you can expect to see all your favorite game types in Matchmaking. Forge has been greatly improved, although there is not a forge world we have 3 smaller environments to work with. 343 has also added magnets onto objects to prevent frequents trips to the " Coordinate Editor".

My conclusion is that this game offers the best Halo experience yet and you should go grab a copy.
